Racing Legends and Sydney’s Social Scene Join Together at The Hats, Jockeys & Jewels Cocktail Party

Racing legends including Jimmy Cassidy, John Tapp, and Wayne Harriss will join Lady McMahon, Charlie Brown, Lady Hardy, Sherrill Gleeson, Harry M. Miller, Diana Fischer, and Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull on Thursday 17th September, 6.30pm at The Elan Glasshouse, Rushcutters Bay for a cocktail party, designer hat parade and calcutta to raise money for Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

Guests attending this special cocktail party will include a who's who from racing circles and Sydney's social scene. The evening will begin with an auction of the Calcutta horses, followed by the running of the calcutta called by John Tapp and the long awaited hat parade of 60 Franklin Towner hats.

'As a long time supporter of Sydney Children's Hospital, I am delighted to mark the beginning of the Spring Racing Carnival with a cocktail party that involves many of Australia's top jockeys and also raises money for children treated at Sydney Children Hospital', said Lady McMahon.

Prizes for the Calcutta and raffle include a holiday for two to Bali including a Club Med accommodation package, a picnic for two in Centennial Park with a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, gourmet hamper and four bottles of Bollinger, a limousine driven day at Randwick races with lunch in the committee room, one Franklin Towner Hat and a day on the harbour in a Junk including your own captain.

Throughout the evening popular newspaper cartoonist Warren Brown, will be sketching caricatures of many guests.
