Kids - Our Golden Future

From Wednesday, 1 September 1999 until July 2000, over 1000 employees building the Walter Construction International Broadcast Centre, Lidcombe will show their generous support to the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The New Children's Hospital, Westmead by donating a gold coin every time they enter the site.

The Kids - Our Golden Future fundraising campaign will involve every employee and subcontractor donating a gold coin every time they enter the broadcast site and has been supported by the Union of every staff member including CFMEU (Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union), ETU (Electrical Trades Union), CEPU (Construction, Electrical, Plumbing Union) and the AMWU (Australian Manufacturing Workers Union).

All proceeds raised from this fundraising event will be equally divided between the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The New Children's Hospital, Westmead to fund children's Cancer Research.

The Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The New Children's Hospital, Westmead provide specialist paediatric services to thousands of children from NSW and beyond.

Each year, hundreds of children in NSW are diagnosed with cancer diseases - 70 per cent of these brave young patients are cured of their illness. However, ongoing research is vital for both Hospital's to reach a goal of a 100 per cent cure rate.
