International Children's Day An Affair of the Art

Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick is celebrating a colourful International Children's Day on Wednesday 20 October.

Celebrations will kick off at midday in the Hospital School courtyard with a BBQ lunch, face painting and kids' art competition and lively entertainment by the brassy Navy Band. Children's art will be displayed below a colourful wall mural - with judging from 1.30pm. The theme this year is: 'my favourite party'.

At 3pm, the 2003 Australian Idol celebrity, Courtney Act, will join children, their families and staff in the famous Starlight Express Room for a Karaoke Competition. Courtney will judge the competition, hand out prizes to all the contestants and give the ultimate prize for best Karaoke showstopper.

Art therapy, play therapy and music therapy are all utilised by qualified staff at Sydney Children's Hospital to help children through their experience of hospitalisation and provide positive outcomes for the children. Party Day - colourful paintings and music with heart - takes this idea to the max.
