Harris Farm Goes For Gold To Help Sick Kids

What will you do to raise money for Gold Week?


On Saturday 2 June – Harris Farm Markets will be going for gold, proudly supporting Gold Week and the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

During Gold Week 1 – 7 June, Harris Farm Markets staff will be celebrating life to help sick kids with their “Gold Hair-Do’s Day”.

Customers will be invited to ‘glitter up’ with gold hair spray in return for a gold coin donation. Harris Farm Markets will also be selling Gold Week pins throughout Gold Week to raise even more money for the Hospital.

Harriet Harris, Marketing Manager for Harris Farm Markets is very excited about being part of Gold Week. “Community giving is an integral part of our corporate citizenship. Harris Farm Markets is closely connected to the health and economy of each community we serve. To this end we believe in contributing to their sustainability. What better way to do that than supporting the health and happiness of children, they are our future. Gold Week allows us to do just that and have some fun! We will be selling the gorgeous Gold Week pins and Gold Hair-do's in-store on Saturday 2 June to glitter up your day with gold hair spray for a gold coin donation,” she said.

There is not a community from NSW that has not been touched by Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. No matter where you live, from Bronte to Blacktown and from Bondi to Bourke, the Hospital invites you to get involved and help seriously ill children who come to us from all corners of NSW and beyond…

From June 1 – 7 the Hospital invites everyone in NSW to get creative and get involved to raise vital funds by holding their own gold themed fundraising activities at home, work, school or play to celebrate life while raising much needed funds that will help seriously ill children.

Elizabeth Crundall, Chief Executive, SCHF praised the commitment of Harris Farm Markets to help the Hospital during Gold Week. “We are delighted to have Harris Farm Markets on board as a Gold Partner during our major annual fundraising campaign.   Our aim is to raise more than $1Million dollars from Gold Week and every cent raised will help us to meet our target.   I urge everyone to support Gold Week by enjoying the fun at all Harris Farm Markets with Gold Hair-Do’s for a gold coin. Your support will directly benefit the lives of seriously ill children treated at the Hospital,” Ms. Crundall said.

Gold Week and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick

The Gold Week fundraising activities the people of NSW can create are limitless. Everything from raffling a day off at work, to fashion parades, dinner parties, gold lunches, breakfasts and even gold mufti days and sports days for schools.

Gold Week events can be as simple or elaborate as people want. They can be something that people already do such as hosting a trivia night, breakfast, dinner, barbecue, sporting event or competition, a raffle or a dance. The ideas are limitless.
