Baseline Hosts a Day on the Green and Raises $65,000 for Sick Kids at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick
In a week that saw most of Sydney drenched in rain, on 24 April local Alexandria construction firm, Baseline Constructions, held a Golf Day at Macquarie Links Golf Course. The day raised an impressive $65,000 for the Centre for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCCandBD) at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
Miraculously the rain held off for the 100 Baseline Constructions staff, clients and subcontractors who played a round of golf and attended the lunch and auction. $58,850 was raised prior to the event and via the auction, with generous individuals donating another $6,150 on the day to ensure the final fundraising total for the day reached $65,000. This was the first year Baseline Constructions has held a fundraising Golf Day, and they plan to repeat the successful event next year.
CCCandBD Clinical Nurse Consultant Kirsten Adnum attended and spoke to the guests about the important work CCCandBD does for children with cancer, in particular their rural outreach service, thanks to the community support of organisations like Baseline Constructions.
The Baseline team visited the Hospital on 12 June to present the cheque to Adam Check, Chief Executive, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, who said, “Through their generous fundraising, Baseline Constructions and its supporters help the Hospital make a positive difference in the lives of seriously ill children. Sydney Children’s Hospital is delighted and extremely grateful for their support.”
